PDF4me 安全文档 是一个 Zapier 增加密码保护和编辑限制的操作 Word 文件。使用此功能可要求输入密码才能打开文档，或将编辑限制为只读、只注释、表单字段或跟踪修订。返回一个受保护的文件。 Word 文件用于下一步 Zap 步骤。

此操作的作用

保护类型有五种选项

文档类型可选择只读、允许评论、允许表单字段、允许修改或不设保护。当文档类型不为“不设保护”时，需要输入文档保护密码。

最终报告的加密分发

1. 当共享云端硬盘文件夹中的文档被标记为最终版本时，会触发一个触发器。
2. PDF4me 安全文档运行方式为：打开时启用安全功能 = 是，并设置打开时启用安全密码，同时设置保护类型 = 只读，并设置单独的文档保护密码。
3. Gmail 步骤会通过电子邮件发送受保护的文件，而打开密码则通过 Slack 等单独的渠道发送。

只读分发，无开放密码

1. 一个定时任务会从 Dropbox 文件夹中检索最新生成的报告。
2. PDF4me 安全文档以“打开时安全”=“否”和“保护类型”=“只读”运行，并设置了文档保护密码，因此任何人都可以打开文件，但不能编辑它。
3. 安全文件上传到共享团队文件夹，以便广泛分发。

最终签字前仅作评论审核

1. 草稿文件进入审阅文件夹，触发 Zap。
2. PDF4me 安全文档设置保护类型 = 允许添加注释，并设置文档保护密码，以便审阅者可以添加注释，但不能更改原始文本。

实用技巧

File: (Exists but not shown) causes errors

Select the mapping option that provides the file's full binary content instead of a reference. See Zapier & Power Automate Tips for the exact steps.

Secure On Open and Protection Type are independent

You can set either one alone, or both together with different passwords. Leaving Secure On Open = No still lets Protection Type restrict editing.

Document Protection Password is only required for restrictions

It is required whenever Protection Type is anything other than No Protection. If Protection Type is No Protection, this field can be left blank.

Send passwords through a separate channel

Emailing the secured file and its password in the same message defeats the purpose of the protection. Share the password via a different channel such as Slack or SMS.

File Name needs the correct extension

Include .docx or .doc explicitly in File Name so downstream steps and recipients see the correct file type.

How do I password protect a Word document in Zapier?+

Add the PDF4me Secure Document action to a Zap, map the Word file from a previous step using the full-content option, set Secure On Open to Yes, and enter a Secure On Open Password. See Microsoft's guide on protecting a Word document with a password for how the resulting file behaves when opened in Word.

How do I make a Word document read-only?+

Set Protection Type to ReadOnly and provide a Document Protection Password. Recipients can open and view the document freely but cannot edit the text without first removing the restriction in Word using that password.

What is the difference between Secure On Open and Protection Type?+

Secure On Open controls whether a password is required just to open the file at all, which is standard Word document encryption. Protection Type controls what a user who has already opened the file is allowed to do, such as read-only or comments-only editing. See Zapier's guidance on setting up actions for general help configuring action fields in a Zap.

How do I remove restricted editing from a Word document?+

Open the protected document in Microsoft Word, go to Review, Restrict Editing, and enter the Document Protection Password to stop protection. PDF4me applies the restriction during the Zap; removing it happens inside Word with the same password.

Can I combine an open password with read-only protection?+

Yes. Set Secure On Open to Yes with its own Secure On Open Password, and separately set Protection Type to ReadOnly (or another restriction) with its own Document Protection Password. The two protections are independent and can use different passwords.
