What is Rotate Image by EXIF Data?
This endpoint rotates an image based on its EXIF orientation tag. Many cameras and phones store orientation in EXIF; this API reads that tag and returns the image with the correct display orientation. You provide the image (Base64), docName, and optionally async. No angle parameter—orientation is taken from EXIF.
Key features
- Auto orientation – Uses EXIF orientation; no angle parameter needed.
- Single request – Send docContent, docName; no extra configuration.
- Async – Use async for large images.
:::tip Best for Use when you have photos from cameras or phones that may be stored in the wrong orientation. For custom angles use Rotate Image; for reading EXIF use Get Image Metadata. :::
When to use Rotate Image by EXIF Data
- Photos from cameras/phones – Correct orientation from EXIF so images display upright.
- Batch normalization – Align orientations across many images before processing.
- Pipelines – Use before Resize Image or Compress Image so downstream steps work on correctly oriented images.
