Important Facts You Should Not Miss​

Empty Watermark ID removes ALL shapes
When Watermark ID is empty, every shape on the targeted worksheets is removed, including watermarks, charts, images, and text boxes. Specify a shape name for selective removal.
Shape name matching is case-sensitive
Watermark ID must match the exact case of the shape name inside the Excel file. A mismatched case means the shape will not be found or removed.
Worksheet targeting is optional
Leave Worksheet Names and Worksheet Indexes empty to apply the action to every worksheet in the file, or set one to limit the scope.

Use the + button next to File and File Name to map from earlier Zap steps. You can use File Url and Full File Name from a previous PDF4me Excel action. The Excel file must provide full content, not "Exists but not shown" references.

Output​

How Do I Remove a Watermark from Excel in Zapier?​

  1. Add PDF4me to your Zap and choose Remove Watermark under the Excel actions.
  2. Connect your PDF4me account, or select an existing connection.
  3. Map File and File Name from a previous step, using full file content.
  4. Set Watermark ID to the exact case-sensitive shape name, or leave it empty to remove every shape.
  5. Optionally set Worksheet Names or Worksheet Indexes to limit which sheets are affected.
  6. Optionally set Culture Name for locale-specific processing.
  7. Test the step, then map File Url or Alternate File Url to the next action in your Zap.

What Happens When Watermark ID Is Left Empty?​

Leaving Watermark ID empty removes every shape, not just watermarks, from the worksheets you target. Charts, images, drawings, and text boxes are all deleted along with any watermark shapes. Use this only when you genuinely want to strip all shapes from a sheet; otherwise, always set a specific shape name.

Practical Tips​

Empty Watermark ID removes everything
If you only want the watermark gone, always set Watermark ID to the exact shape name. Leaving it empty deletes charts, images, and text boxes too.
Match the shape name exactly
Watermark ID matching is case-sensitive. If the shape is not being removed, check for capitalization or trailing-space mismatches against the actual shape name in the file.
"Exists but not shown" breaks the File field

Combine Worksheet Names and Indexes as needed
Both fields accept comma-separated lists and can be left empty together to apply the action to every worksheet in the file.
Test on a copy before running at scale
Because an empty Watermark ID is destructive to all shapes, test the configuration on a duplicate file before wiring it into a production Zap.

What happens if I leave Watermark ID empty?+

Can I remove a watermark from specific worksheets only?+
Yes. Set Worksheet Names or Worksheet Indexes to the sheets you want affected. Leave both empty and the action applies to every worksheet in the file.
Does removing a watermark also delete charts or images?+
Only if Watermark ID is left empty, in which case every shape on the targeted worksheets is removed, not just watermark shapes. Set a specific Watermark ID to remove one shape and leave the rest untouched.
How do I target a worksheet by index instead of by name?+
Use Worksheet Indexes with a 1-based position, such as 1 for the first sheet. It works the same as Worksheet Names and the two can be combined.
Is Watermark ID matching case-sensitive?+
